Ambassador’s Report
Like the rest of the developing world, Ghana has a number of public agencies, ministries, departments and authorities that supervise and enforce food standards. They also promote these standards for cross-border trade within the sub-region. My goal is to see a regional harmonization of the various food standards and protocols to facilitate inter- and intra-regional trade. I have published one article in the widely circulated national Daily Graphic. In the future, I plan to engage the Ghana Standards and the nation’s food and drug authorities to champion such harmonization efforts in Ghana and in the West African sub-region.
