Dr. Sunita Singh earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry (2015) from DDU Gorakhpur University, specializing in the antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of spice essential oils and oleoresins. Her research journey began as a UGC Research Fellow (JRF & SRF), where she investigated the chemistry and bioactivity of botanicals such as Piper nigrum and Nigella sativa. Since joining Navyug Kanya Mahavidyalaya, University of Lucknow, as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Singh has advanced her expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis of botanicals, with a focus on essential oils, oleoresins, and their therapeutic potentials.
She has authored 40 research articles in reputed national and international journals and contributed 15 book chapters. As an accomplished editor and reviewer, she collaborates with leading publishers and journals, ensuring high standards in scientific communication.
Beyond her publications, Dr. Singh plays an active role in the Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI), serving as the GHI Deputy Communication Director, India Ambassador and Co-Chair of the Nutrition Working Group. She is also a professional member of the International Clinical Aromatherapy Network, where she presented her work at Botanica, a global aromatherapy event.
Her academic leadership extends to college administration, where she is actively involved in institutional development and student engagement. She also contributes to international scientific outreach by organising the Global Women’s Breakfast (IUPAC), fostering collaboration and empowerment among women in science. Dr. Singh’s career reflects a balance of rigorous research, academic leadership, and global scientific advocacy. Her work continues to bridge chemistry, food science, and international harmonization, inspiring both students and peers in the scientific community.
